1. The Call of Abraham (Genesis 11:27-12:9)
Abraham (Abram) is called by God out of Ur of the Chaldees, stops in Haran, and then travels with his wife Sarai (Sarah) to Canaan.

2. Sarah's Abduction and Abraham's Deceit (Genesis 12:10-20 and 20:1-18)
Sarah's beauty causes her to be abducted by both Pharaoah and a Abimelech, king of Gerar. God shows Abraham or Abram how he will protect him -- and Sarai -- through all circumstances.

3. Abraham Rescues His Nephew Lot (Genesis 13-14)
Abraham's nephew Lot is kidnapped when Mesopotamian kings attack Sodom and other settlements. Abraham raises his own personal army, rescues Lot and other captives during a night attack, and presents part of the plunder to Melchizedek, priest of the Most High God, as a tithe.

4. God's Covenant with Abraham (Genesis 15)
God promises Abraham descendents and the land of Canaan. The covenant is sealed with a sacrifice. Abraham believes God and it is counted to him as righteousness.

Frustrated that they can't bear a child, Sarah gives her slave Hagar to Abraham. God speaks to Hagar, who bears Ishamel.

7. Abraham Intercedes for Sodom (Genesis 18)
Three angels appear to Abraham and promise him that next year Sarah will bear a son. Sarah laughs, but Abraham believes God.

The Destruction of Sodom (Genesis 19)
The angels visit Sodom to rescue Lot, but are propositioned by the townsmen for homosexual acts. The angels lead Lot and his wife and daughters out of Sodom, but Lot's wife looks back and is turned to a pillar of salt. The city is destroyed with fire and brimstone.

9. Isaac Born, Ishmael Banished (Genesis 21)
Sarah finally give birth to Isaac according to God's promise. Afraid that Ishmael will take her son's inheritance, Sarah insists that Hagar and Ishmael are driven away from the family encampment.

Abraham Offers Isaac on Mt. Moriah (Genesis 22:1-19)
God tells Abraham to take his only son Isaac and sacrifice him to Yahweh on Mt. Moriah. Abraham tells Isaac, 'The Lord will provide.' Just before he kills his son on the altar, God provides a lamb for the sacrifice.

11. Death of Sarah and Abraham (Genesis 22:20 - 25:1-11)
Abraham purchases a burial plot for Sarah in the field in Machpelah near Mamre, procures a Wife for Isaac, marries a concubine Keturah and protects Isaac's inheritance, and finally dies and is buried.

When Jacob's sons sell his favorite son Joseph into slavery out of jealousy, he falls into depression when he believes Joseph is dead. Joseph rises to second in Egypt to Pharaoh. When the brothers come to buy food during a famine, Joseph recognizes them. After testing them he reveals himself to them and brings the entire family to Egypt to live in Goshen.
