II. A Christian View of Sex and Marriage (1 Corinthians 5:1-7:40)

1 Corinthians: Discipleship Lessons from a Troubled Church, by Dr. Ralph F. Wilson
Available as a book in paperback, PDF, and Kindle formats.

Paul has been dealing with disunity and disrespect within the church at Corinth. Now he moves to other issues that center on their views of sex and marriage. They lived in a sexually-loose culture and needed apostolic input to get their lives in balance. We'll study these chapters in three lessons:

  1. Confronting Immorality in a Cleansed Church (1 Corinthians 5)

  2. An Exhortation against Sexual Sin (1 Corinthians 6)
  3. Marriage and Divorce at the End of the Age (1 Corinthians 7)

Lesson 7 discusses a particular long chapter, so if you're teaching this to a class or small group, you might want to cover it over two sessions.
