Zacchaeus, Luke 19:1-10

| READER 1 | Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. |
| READER 2 | A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; |
| READER 3 | he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. |
| READER 1 | He wanted to see who Jesus was, but being a short man he could not, because of the crowd. |
| READER 1 | He wanted to see who Jesus was, |
| READER 2 | but being a short man he could not, |
| READER 3 | because of the crowd. |
| READER 1 | So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way. |
| READER 2 | When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, |
| READER 3 | "Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today." |
| READER 1 | Zacchaeus, |
| READER 2 | come down immediately. |
| READER 3 | I must stay at your house today. |
| READER 1 | So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly. |
| READER 2 | All the people saw this and began to mutter, "He has gone to be the guest of a 'sinner.' " |
| READER 3 | But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, |
| READER 1 | "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, |
| READER 2 | and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount." |
| READER 1 | Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, |
| READER 2 | and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, |
| READER 3 | I will pay back four times the amount. |
| READER 1 | Jesus said to him, Today salvation has come to this house, |
| READER 2 | because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. |
| READER 3 | For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost. |
| READER 1 | For the Son of Man came |
| READER 2 | to seek and to save |
| READER 3 | what was lost. |
