Jesus’ resurrection from the dead is the single event upon which the truth of Christianity rises or falls. This study of the resurrection begins by surveying the concept of resurrection from the dead from its earliest mentions in the Old Testament through Jesus' and the apostles’ teachings about resurrection. Then it examines at the accounts in each of the four gospels to determine exactly what took place that Easter morning. It surveys five alternate explanations of the resurrection and why none provides an adequate explanation for the New Testament accounts. It discusses the strong facts of the resurrection which underlie our belief in Christ's physical resurrection from the dead and explores the theological and practical implications of Christ's resurrection. Finally, the book considers what the New Testament teaches about our own resurrection on the Last Day. This exploration of the resurrection makes an excellent Lenten five-lesson study for personal enrichment, use by small groups and classes, and for sermon preparation materials for teachers and preachers. The basic outline is below -- or see the detailed outline:
Order the book. It will enrich your thoughts, your prayers, your worship, and
your life -- as well as provide a rich study for your class or small group and
provide fodder for Easter sermons.
